Looking for your fix of culture and education during your next staycation in Wembley? Look no further, for we’ve compiled our best museums and galleries in London to suit any taste. Take a read!

The Victoria and Albert Museum

The V&A museum is right at the top of our list - one of Earth’s greatest collections of decorative art, design and fashion textiles. If the content or the architecture doesn’t convince you, surely the cake in the sunny courtyard will! (Bonus reason: There’s also a tiny pet cemetery for those who like things a little more on the morbid side. Hello, Stephen King!)

The Tate Modern

The Tate Modern gallery is an iconic exhibit hosting all things modern and contemporary. Based in what was Bankside Power Station, the Tate Modern allows you to come face-to-face with art from some of the world’s best. Dali, Warhol and Hockney are just a few of the names whose work is on display at the Tate Modern. See it for yourself!

The Natural History Museum

This is no ordinary museum - the Natural History Museum is home to some 80 million items over their five main exhibits. With more nature information than David Attenborough, there’s not much the museum leaves to the imagination. Surround yourself with everything to do with flora and fauna at the Natural History Museum in London.

The British Museum

History, art and culture? Count us in! The British Museum is home to approximately 8 million permanent items. Based in Bloomsbury, the institution is dedicated to human history, spanning over two-million years. Additionally, the British Museum has one of the most comprehensive and widest collections in existence, with most of the artefacts sourced during the era of the British Empire.

The Science Museum

Last, but by no means least, one of London’s most popular tourist attractions, attracting over 3 million visitors per year is The Science Museum. Opened in 1857, the Science Museum is not only home to more than 15,000 items, it’s also home to 3D and 4D simulator experiences. Blast off into space on the Apollo space mission or fly with the Red Arrows. Watch a film on a screen taller than four double-decker busses at the IMAX 3D cinema, there’s a world of endless possibilities at The Science Museum London.

Holiday Inn Wembley Reviews

Alenandre,

Saint Johnsbury, Vermont

I was really impressed and even surprised how great this hotel was. It is located next to Wembley and it is 5-7 minutes to walk from the subway station Wembley Park. Rooms are very clean, the bed was simply fantastic. The breakfast is far above traditional breakfasts in midrange price British hotels. I will definitely stay there again when I am going to be in London.

James,

Coatbridge

We stayed 2 nights and enjoyed our stay. We were looking for decent hotel in London and although a wee bit outside the center of London, the rail/tube links to Wembley makes this hotel easily accessible to central London (30 min train journey). We booked executive room (£134) which was large, with great view of Wembley stadium. Service from staff was very good with food and drink reasonable for London.

Pauline,

Colchester

The welcome was friendly and helpful. Room on 3rd floor very clean and fresh. Twin beds as requested. Very comfortable. The temperature of room was constant with no stuffy feel.

Great choice for breakfast. This is hotel is good value for money considering location.

Deborah,

Miami Beach, Florida

This hotel was absolutely great. The food and everything far exceeded my expectations. The room was very comfortable and very clean. The staff were extraordinarily professional and provided excellent service. They were very accommodating and made my stay a very pleasant and rewarding one.

John,

Truro

Handy for train station and bus routes, and it had all amenities that you could reasonably require. The room itself was good and I slept well that night. I would gladly stay again.

David,

Tees Valley

Good value stopover with the city easily reached by the Metropolitan Line. Team here are always welcoming. Comfortable and clean room on the 9th floor and the air con much appreciated on a scorcher of a day outside.

Will,

Derbyshire

Wonderful hotel room, very good price, staff were lovely and friendly. Saying how busy it was after the summertime ball the staff were friendly and on hand to help. Would recommend to anyone who wants a place to stay visiting Wembley stadium.

Kay,

The friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff and a VERY comfortable bed makes this hotel an excellent choice every time, especially when you intend attending events at Wembley or shopping in the designer outlets.

Julie,
