We all desperately need a holiday now, but we understand a lot of people are experiencing some anxiety about travelling so soon after the peak has flattened. Fear not, for we’re sharing our top tips to travel safely during - and after - the pandemic. Hopefully, you’ll use these tips when you next stay at our Wembley hotel!

Make a sani-caddy

Ok, we’ll admit we’ve just coined the term Sani-Caddy, but you may have these things already. In a small bag or even a ziplock pouch, keep hand sanitiser, a spare mask and a few pairs of (clean!) latex or rubber gloves. Other things to add are alcohol wipes, feminine hygiene products, tissues or even moisturiser to keep your hands from drying out.

Wipe it, bin it, kill it

You may be tempted to keep the gloves on, but in many cases, it's not the best idea. When you’ve settled in on your preferred mode of transport, take a sanitation wipe and wipe your mobile phone thoroughly, being careful not to touch your phone with your gloves. When your phone is clean, immediately take the gloves off by turning them inside out and dispose of them responsibly.

Hat’s fantastic!

If you have longer hair and want to go the extra mile, you can pull all of your hair back into a tight ponytail and put it under a hat. The virus can easily nestle in hair, making those with long locks susceptible. But, just like a bad hair day, a hat will fix that.

Mask it

Please don’t take your mask off and put it anywhere! If you must take your mask off, clean your hands first, then fold it in half with the side that touches your mouth inwards, and put it somewhere that people haven’t touched, like that pocket in your bag that you never seem to use. That way, you’re able to pop it back on without needing to use a new mask so soon.

Be resourceful!

No sanitation wipes? No problem! Find a fast-food stand and ask the server nicely for a sanitation wipe or two. These are anti-grease and antibacterial. Perfect for wiping flat surfaces like a phone or a flip-down tray. Hand sanitiser and tissues work just as well. If you don’t have a mask, there are plenty of tutorials on YouTube that only require fabric and a needle and thread. There are lots of possibilities!

We hope you found a lot of these tips useful, and we hope you’ll try some out when you come to visit us at our hotel in London! We can’t wait to welcome you back through our doors soon. Stay safe, stay happy, stay sanitary!

Holiday Inn Wembley Reviews

Alenandre,

Saint Johnsbury, Vermont

I was really impressed and even surprised how great this hotel was. It is located next to Wembley and it is 5-7 minutes to walk from the subway station Wembley Park. Rooms are very clean, the bed was simply fantastic. The breakfast is far above traditional breakfasts in midrange price British hotels. I will definitely stay there again when I am going to be in London.

James,

Coatbridge

We stayed 2 nights and enjoyed our stay. We were looking for decent hotel in London and although a wee bit outside the center of London, the rail/tube links to Wembley makes this hotel easily accessible to central London (30 min train journey). We booked executive room (£134) which was large, with great view of Wembley stadium. Service from staff was very good with food and drink reasonable for London.

Pauline,

Colchester

The welcome was friendly and helpful. Room on 3rd floor very clean and fresh. Twin beds as requested. Very comfortable. The temperature of room was constant with no stuffy feel.

Great choice for breakfast. This is hotel is good value for money considering location.

Deborah,

Miami Beach, Florida

This hotel was absolutely great. The food and everything far exceeded my expectations. The room was very comfortable and very clean. The staff were extraordinarily professional and provided excellent service. They were very accommodating and made my stay a very pleasant and rewarding one.

John,

Truro

Handy for train station and bus routes, and it had all amenities that you could reasonably require. The room itself was good and I slept well that night. I would gladly stay again.

David,

Tees Valley

Good value stopover with the city easily reached by the Metropolitan Line. Team here are always welcoming. Comfortable and clean room on the 9th floor and the air con much appreciated on a scorcher of a day outside.
